Our Story

We are Solaris Filmwerks, a small production company in Atlanta, GA. As professional filmmakers we have tight-knit assembly of producers, crew, editors, post sound, etc. who can help the director follow his vision for the film. We are passionate filmmakers on a mission to tell truly unique stories in genres where story and plot maybe be overlooked. 

 

We are making a horror movie called Prosper, based on the taboo of an Eastern religious philosophy known as the Kundalini. Channeling spirits from the spirit world, Irene, the 'practitioner', offers a young man she encounters the chance to speak with his deceased brother of two years, who died in a house fire. When he accepts her invitation, he pulls his friends into the web she weaves baiting them into helping her achieve her ultimate goal...continued youth and prosperity. 

 

Our target date to begin shooting is January the 11th, 2012 in two cities of the Atlanta suburbs. With Atlanta being a hub for the CW Network's The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolfe and AMC's The Walking Dead, there is readily available talent and crew willing to jump aboard a strong and thoroughly planned out production such as this one. 

The Impact

Unlike most recent runaway horror film phenomenons, this film is heavy, thought provoking and will challenge your spiritual beliefs. It has been likened to The Omen, Angels and Demons and even the cult classic, The Exorcist by those familiar with it. Isn't it time to take horror back to the days of when it was more to the movie than just CGI (special effects), blood, gore and guts? 
 
This isn't a slasher film by any means. And though there is a fair amount of blood and gore, the subject matter isn't for the faint of heart. You will be scared. 

What We Need & What You Get

We need $15,000 to begin production and get through the first wave. The money goes to pay for equipment, locations, special FX makeup artists, food, talent and more. If we don't reach the entire goal, the funds will go toward the production still, just on a smaller scale. 
 
We are targeting other funding sources who can use the benefit of the tax write off with larger contributions; however, every dollar helps us get started on production. The next phase will be post production, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. 
 
For your help you can get some really cool perks out of the deal. For example, first, you can write off your contribution of $20 or more! Second, you can get credits in the film which will appear on the DVD such as Associate Producer, 2nd AD (assistant director), Executive Producer, and even make an appearance in the film as an extra. You can come out and participate on the set as a PA or meet the cast and crew during our wrap party. You can even participate as a VIP during our premiere screening planned for the Fox Theater in Atlanta GA! How's that for some perks?
